Hmm, strange idea, but it might work.
All depending on how long this whole farmville/etc. fad will last...
But I can play Farmville on my iPhone/iPod if I were into it. Will a non-gamer wanna fork out hundreds of dollars for the experience?
It kind of looks like a Pandora.... though not as pretty, which says something since the Pandora is ugly (though oh so cool)

How can they allow takeovers of markets like this?
Banks don't care... if you have been following the non-corporate media lately you will see the banks and elite bankers in the world are trying to push forth the NEW WORLD ORDER - this is DEAD REAL.. i suggest you look at it.
I hate banks and how they ruin everyone who gets in their way..

I have an iPad 1 and I am really wishing that there was more Ram in it so programs would run smoother and faster. So saw a hack that was suppose work with firmware before 4.2 but I was curious if there was a hack that would allow you to use your flash memory are virtual ram on 4.3.

Take a look at this (http://refit.sourceforge.net/).
It's an efi boot manager, this will let you select between bootable OS' installed on your machine.

Hi,
I work in a colour critical environment and need to add on another monitor. My graphics card only has mini display ports left so will need to use a DVI ti Mini Display cable or adapter which I've heard mixed reviews about.
Has anyone used them with accurate colour results?
Thanks in advance,

Looks like I have another place spot to visit when i go to Australia.
I didn't know Apple store is a tourist attraction. though I must admit I went to check out the Apple Store when I went down to Sydney last year http://images.macrumors.com/vb/images/smilies/biggrin.gif hehe...
i recommend parking at the convention centre and walking through southbank. cheaper than CBD parking and less hassle!
...or you could just catch the bus.

Hi folks,
een enjoying the enthusiasm for the new arrivals the past few days, and mine arrived this evening (what a way to start the weekend, huh?)
The iMac hit my wireless immediately (asked for my network password (using WPA2 Personal), but it is crazy slow...
Sitting next to my new iMac is my year old Minimac with the same settings, and it roars on my wireless, no problems at all. This is clearly weird, so if anyone has a thought, I'd appreciate the input.
Wired works fine, but I bought this thing so I could go live (and work), down at the beach this summer, and that will be a wireless situation.
best,
Brendan G.

As I understand it, Apple will end up restating earnings for previous years, resulting in lower profits in those years, or maybe even a loss. Basically rewriting history, which isn't that important to investors who are looking at what Apple is doing today, or guessing what Apple will do in the near term. If this rewritten history is "bad", just think about how bad things were before Steve J returned to Apple!

Boot from your OS X install disk, open Disk Utility, erase the HD, partition if you so desire (don't personally see the need), install the OS, wonder why you need so many language packs. That's about it.

There's probably a really simple solution but I can't figure it out.
I'm setting up a website for some friends who are starting a web comic. The comics will be SWF files. It's all well and good that people can view them on the website but we'd like people to be able to click a link and download the file.
I haven't done anything like this before and the only thing my google searches seem to be coming back with is
Download MyFile.swf
Which just opens up the file in the browser.
Anyone know the solution to this?

I like it. A little creepy, pretty cool. Too bad I'm assuming you can't add a couple frames to make it smoother becuase of size reasons, that would make it a better avatar though.

Do you have the basics setup? By that I mean, does your app currently show a specified location? There's a bunch of tutorials on using the MapKit.
You need to setup a CLLocationCoordinate2D property and set it to the specific location for each button. Then you can create a region that contains this location and pass that to your mapView.

I have Time Capsule backing up to a NAS unit on my network. Than I connect a USB to that NAS and take it offsite once a month or so. I feel this is more than sufficient for most of my files
Also, any critical file lives in either Dropbox or Evernote so a copy is backed up to the internet at all times.

Why are there so many drunk people in the Mac Pro forums?!!
You can't possibly tell me that you consume your daily dose of MacRumors without being completely hammered...
That'd be just insane!

I understand that Lion has changed the way Migration works. Does anyone happen to know if Lion will support the selective migration of apps from an existing system to a new one? For example, I'd like make a fresh start and migrate only Mail data and iPhoto data and select other programs+data.Just start fresh and copy the appropriate Application Support folders over from the old system?

Yeah I'd be willing to bet that they use MacRumors as a source

If the majority of programs you use are Windows programs, you would be better of purchasing a Windows laptop. Virtual PC is an irritatingly slow program in my opinion, especially on a G4.

Just get it now. It is very unlikely that a new release would take place so soon. Lion will be included by September but other then that you won't gain anything by waiting.
