Hello,
thinking about upgrading the RAM in 3 towers. Wondering what the consequences would be as it relates to AppleCare if I were to install it myself.
Or should I simply have a certified tech install it?
Thanks,
ed

I am looking for a keyboard for my Mac mini as well. I only wish that Apple's current keyboard had a power button on it. Are there any nice keyboards that have a power button on them? I only seen like 3, the old Apple ones, a slim one from Kensington, and some ugly black one. Is there one that I do not know about? Thanks.
This one from Adesso is the one I am currently using

works great on panther, you just have to download the latest drivers. It has a power button and everything. it is an ergo keyboard though.

I've heard through the Apple grapevine that in the UK/all of Europe is experiencing delays - even with the 16gb model. I apologize if my info is wrong

For me, it'd be quite useful even if just the people I care to see have one.
We video Skype every day to our family members in Hawaii, Florida, Nevada, D.C. I'd love to be able to use a smartphone to do the same on vacations, instead of dragging along our laptops for that purpose.
Many smartphone models sold outside the USA have front cameras for video calls. But apparently the quality and the cost have been some reasons that prevented widespread adoption.
Actually, they are quite cheap.

I'd say a flashed 7800GTX with 512MB is the fastest.
Sorry, saying isn't knowing.
And it's true, especially in gaming.
False. Tell that to the reduced framerates and skipping animation.

So I want to create a company email like "info@server.mydomain.com" and then have multiple employees able to read the emails from their respective Mac Mail clients. I tried to use the "enable server group mailing list". The problem is that if I send email to our group like "office-wiki@mydomain.com" the email will go through however the emails only appear in the wiki webpage and not in each employees Mac mail.
so basically is there a way to make a company email that would send the messages to each employee right on their desktops in Mac Mail or do I just set up a new user "info" and have each employee add that account to their Mac Mail apps?
Thanks

Good point. Another thing to consider - they're pretty loud. Most dorky people like us don't care, but perhaps the OP has a significant other that might. ;)

3) Most MacOS X programs do not fully exit when you close them, which allows them to "re-open" much faster.
the old argument where pc users say that it's stupid for the application to stay open is weird.
I find on a PC when there are half a dozen IE windows open (no tabs) you close windows with the X or ctrl - w, the app stays open until the last window, so straight away there is inconsistency. You have to keep track of how many or at least leave one open if you don't want to quit. (perhaps a poor example if you think how embedded ie is. eek)
If you want to quit, you have to choose quit or close all windows. Why not just use quit for quit and close window for closing app windows.
So I think the switch is not learning, so much as unlearning. :)

Hi,
I've started using Applescript Studio on Xcode 3.2 and I can't figure out how to get the content of a text field in my AppDelegate script. (It's quite different from the earlier versions of AppleScript Studio.)
I know about the Terminal code to get the earlier version but since I'm developing for Snow Leopard and maybe Lion which doesn't have Rosetta, I don't want to use that.

I find it hard to understand why anybody would sell a computer that works just fine based upon rumors and wishfull thinking. I also do a lot of video and Audio editing on a 2.5 dual G5, if I did not have it I could not do my work. Even if Dual core comes out, I'd wait to see how it performs when compared to what I already own, before throwing my money at it. Also, the last rumor I heard was San Francisco in January, if I had to wait 3 or 4 months for a dream it would be a waste of time. Hey, but it's all just my thinking, to each his own. Good Luck.

OK, I took off the cheapie screen protector I had on my iPhone 4, got a Power Supply anti glare set from the Apple store and put it on. Went on easily and perfectly except for one area at the edge near one corner which isn't sticking. This is covered by the edge of my case, but I'd still like to get it to stick. Any ideas? I can't call PS until Monday, and then I'll be at work.

Thanks for resources! Got lots to learn.
Besides the coding, you should learn how to design good websites that are fast to load, easy to navigate, work in all browsers and devices, easy to maintain and good for search engines to catalog. Anyone can code, people in India will do it for $1/hr, but few can design a really good interface. Learn from the masters like Jeffrey Zeldman, http://www.zeldman.com/ and the others who write articles for http://www.alistapart.com/
Yes, I agree. I've been taking some beginning web design classes and the teacher drills that in our heads constantly. Thanks for the links.

That's pretty sad, reberto.
getbigg21, even if you don't want to for some reason or another, I would put it on eBay. They are going for 1kish there. Crazy.

Dang, I missed the entire 2 day rescue lifting of the miners.
If this ever gets turned into a Documentary movie the only director that I can think of to make the project would be Werner Herzog (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Werner_Herzog).
